About the Book

The present book gives an insight of accounting short term and long term managerial decision making. This book is designed into 10 chapters. Each chapter contains detail explanation of the subject matter and at the end of the chapter a set of example is provided. The 1st chapter explains principles, practices and concepts of accounting. The 2nd chapter deals with the procedure of recording classifying and summarizing transactions. The 3rd throws light on the preparation of financial statements. The preparation and presentation of cash flow statement is explained in 4th chapter. The 5th chapter examines the preparation and presentation of budgeting. The 6th to 9th chapter gives insight of Standard Costing & Variance Analysis and Marginal Costing & Break Even Analysis. The last chapter explains the analysis of Financial Statements. The book is written in simple words keeping students in the mind. Examples given in the book are very easy to understand.

About the Authors

Dr. Vijayesh Kumar is working as a Faculty in the College of Business, University of Buraimi, Sultanate of Oman. Dr. Kumar has been teaching since last two decades in different universities in Middle East, East Africa and South Asia. Dr. Kumars  has worked as Associate Professor in the College of Business Administration, Jazan University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Other International Assignment of Dr. Kumar includes:  Hawassa University Ethiopia, Gaeddu College of Business Studies (Royal University of Bhutan) and Sherubtse College (Royal University of Bhutan). Dr. Kumar was deeply engaged in the development of M. Sc. Accounting and Finance curriculum for Hawassa University, Ethiopia and BBA and B.Com. (Hons.) Curriculum for the Royal University of Bhutan. Dr. Kumar has also worked for the Quality Assurance Unit of Jazan University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Kumar is the author of three books which are classics of their kind.

Dr. Ilya Bystrov is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the College of Business, University of Buraimi, Sultanate of Oman. Dr. Bystrov has been teaching for more than 15 years in different universities – mostly in the Russian Federation and the Middle East. Dr. Bystrov has participated in the development of multiple programs – both of bachelor and master level. Alongside with teaching, Dr. Bystrov held different administrative and leadership positions both in higher education establishments and business. His experience includes positions of the head of managerial and financial consulting department in a consulting company, deputy head of marketing department in a logistics company, Vice-rector responsible for international relations of a university and college coordinator. Dr. Bystrov is an author of multiple publications in such areas management, decision-making, industrial management, strategic management, corruption and finance. Dr. Bystrov has participated and leaded multiple consulting and applied research projects for the purposes of private businesses and government organizations.

Dr. Nisha Rana: Presently Associate Professor at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College , University of Delhi, Bharat.Dr. Rana is an alumni of  Shri Ram College Of Commerce, University of Delhi .She completed her M.Phil and Ph.D. in the area of Organizational Behaviour and Development from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi Dr. Rana has approximately 20 years of experience in academics in the specific areas of Organization Behaviour, Organization Change and Human Resource Management for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.She has published many articles in national and international journals. She has been conferred the ‘Distinguish Teacher Award’ by Govt. of NCT of Delhi for the year 2013. She has conducted a number of training workshops/seminars and conferences in the field of Management  and women empowerment. Dr. Rana has conducted various sessions in UGC National workshops on role of Women in Academic Leadership in Higher Education. Currently she is heading the Department of Management Studies in her college.
