The ocean plays a significant role in our lives since the beginning of civilisation. It is clear that the scientific study of the ocean is very important in contemporary world. About the Editor

S.K. Basu, professionally a chief marine engineer obtained his Bachelor and Master degree from Taratola Marine Engineering College, Kolkata. Mr. Basu, having about thirty years of working experience in sea as a marine engineer with various national and intenational companies. At the same time he devoted himself in study of marine science and several published many research papers in national and international journals.
