About the Book

The present edition examines legal aspects of health and health care system. It also highlights ‘Forensic medicine’-which deals with the application of medical knowledge to aid in the administration of justice, ‘Medical jurisprudence’-which deals with legal responsibilities of the physician with particular reference to those arising from physician and patient relationship such as medical negligence cases. It focuses on Health care systems in India and various Voluntary health care agencies origin and activities. The edition consists of seven chapters. The first five chapters of this edition cover definition, scope,penalties,salient features, recent amendments of various acts related to medical practice, hospital administration and finance, support services and pharmacy management. The sixth chapter explains about health care system, organisation of health care system in India and role of private organisation. The seventh chapter focuses on different health care agencies at national and international levels such as Indian Red cross society, AIWC, BSS, Central Social Welfare Board, UNICEF, UNDP, CARE etc.The authors believe that this revised edition will serve as a tool for the students as well as health care professionals to better manage and understand various dimensions of Health Laws and Health Care System.

About the Authors

Dr. S. Porkodi is or enthusiastic and challenging author.Presently, she is working as the Head of the Department, Department of Management Studies and Editor-in-Chief, International Journal of Management Rivulet (IJMR), Anand Engineering College, Sharda Group of Institutions, Agra.  Educationally qualified as B.Sc (Comp.Sci), M.B.A., M.Phil (Ent), M.Phil (Mgt), PG.D. PM&IR, PG.D. HM., PG.D.EM, &Ph.D. She is having fourteen years of teaching experience in Business Management and Hospital Management. Dr. Porkodi has drafted syllabus for Bharathiar University UG and PG Hospital Management Regular and Distance Education courses. She has pioneered journals of National and International repute and worked as a Board member for various panels of several institutions. She has published papers in reputed National and International journals and contributed to renown periodicals. She has authored several Textbooks for MBA. She served as an Editor of a referred journal-Management Stream. And now, she is the Editor-in- Chief of International Journal of Management Rivulet.

Dr. Ansarul Haque is an enterprising author.  He is working as an Assistant Professor in Humanities Department, Hindustan College of Science and Technology, Sharda Group of Institutions, Mathura. He has completed his Doctorate in Economics from Aligarh Muslim University, a renowned Central University of India.  He is having more than seven years of teaching experience. He hastaught the papers likes Micro Economics, Macro Economics, Managerial Economics, Engineering and Managerial Economics at UG level and presently teaching International Business Environment and Economic Environment of Business to M.B.A students. Dr. Haque is an Editorial Board member of a reputed Journal- Management Stream and serving as Peer-Reviewer in International Journal of Management Rivulet. He has published articles in international and national Journals.
