About the Author

P.D. Sharma was born in Gorakhpur but spent most of his youth overseas. He returned to India to do M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. He worked full time as a teacher in IIT Kanpur before jumping the fence to become a renowned astronomer, a subject in which he had an inborn fascination. He has written many books, guidebooks and research papers making a major contribution in Indian astronomy.
