About the Book

The present book entitled: India and the Contemporary World: Emerging Partnership in the 21st Century critically examines the political, economic, scientific and technological, defence, military and strategic co-operation and collaboration between India and the countries of the world, with a special focus on major powers. The two volumes book has been divided into eight sections. Volume one deals with India’s relationship with South Asia, Central Asia, South-East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. The second volume deals with India’s relations with North and South America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. This book is the original, comprehensive and critical analysis of India’s emerging partnership with the post-Cold War World. It is hoped that this book would be an invaluable source of information and knowledge for academicians, researchers, diplomats as well as policy-makers in addition to the common readers of international relations and India’s foreign policy.
