Description
About the BOOK
There has been growing evidence that the experience of stress at the workplace has undesirable consequences for the organizations and the health of their employees. The roots of the problem lie not only with the sufferer employees, but also embedded in poor organizational culture and systems. Moreover, just accepting the volume of the problem is neither adequate nor effective in the absence of appropriate and timely intervention.
The present book is an assertive effort to compile such researches and strategies that enable professionals as well as the common man to understand the adverse consequences of workplace stress and learn the ways to deal with it. There is a total of thirteen chapters contributed, and every section has its significance in its way. The first six chapters focus on the risk factors and the adverse consequences of workplace stress. The next two chapters are devoted to the preventive measures, and the remaining five chapters focus on the management of workplace stress through different therapeutic modes, including psychosocial to legal. The practical and reality oriented solutions provided in the present book, if implemented, will help to make the workplace, stress-free and productive zone via imparting communication skills, develop strategies for conflict resolution and improve the employee-employer relationship.
