About the Book

Over the years, leadership has been studied extensively in various contexts and theoretical foundations. Leadership is typically defined by the traits, qualities and behaviours of a leader. Though much research has been done to identify the traits, but no clear answer was found with regard to which traits consistently were associated with great leadership. This edition deals with empirical study of the leadership behaviour of principals in education colleges into six chapters.  We hope this study will be useful to the secondary school heads, teachers, administrators and researchers.

About the Book

Dr. Noorjehan N. Ganihar is working as a Professor of the Department of Education and Dean, Faculty of Education in Karnatak University, Dharwad since 1986. She obtained her M.A., M.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees from Karnatak University, Dharwad. She has a P.G. Diploma in Education from S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Bombay. She has a P.G. Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a P.G. Diploma in Higher Education from IGNOU. She was a “Second Rank” holder in her B.A course, “First Rank” holder in B.Ed., M.Ed. and P.G Diploma in Education Management. She is a “Gold Medalist” in the M.Ed. course. She is a recipient of two “State Awards” in (1982) and (1983). She has received Life Time Achievement Award in Education from Health and Education Development Association, New Delhi in 2007. She has published a number of research articles in journals of national standard and repute. She has guided several M.Ed., M.Phil. dissertations and Ph.D. theses. She has attended a number of national/international seminars/ conferences/workshops and presented papers. She is a member of several academic boards/ bodies besides holding honorary positions in NGOs.

Dr. Rajeshwari G. Teggi has obtained her M.A., M.Ed., and Ph.D. from Karnatak University, Dharwad. She is working as Lecturer in B.V.V.S College of Education. Bagalkot. She has attended a number of conferences, symposia and workshops.  Her area of specialization is Educational Management.
