About the Book
Sufism is deeply rooted in Islam and its development began in the late 7th and 8th centuries. About the Authors
Dr. Mohammad Muslim completed his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P., India. He has presented papers in numerous national and international seminars and conferences. He has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of two books: Sir Syed’s Khutbat-i-Ahmadiya: A Critical Study (2021) and Contribution of Indian Muslim Theologians and Thinkers to Islamic Spiritual- Psychology (2024). Dr. Muslim has served as an Assistant Professor (Contractual) in the Department of Islamic Studies at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P., India, for five years (2019-2024). His areas of specialization include Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Aligarh Movement, and Islamic Spirituality.
Dr. Hina Parveen has recently completed her Ph.D. in History from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Her doctoral thesis topic is “Position of Women during Delhi Sultanate (1206–1388)”, focuses on the multifaceted roles of women, with a particular emphasis on female Sufis and their significant contributions to spiritual and socio-cultural life. She has consistently excelled in her academic career, securing first divisions throughout. Dr. Parveen has published research papers in reputed journals, including studies on women’s empowerment, social dynamics in medieval India, and the impact of educational policies on gender equity. She has also presented her work at national and international conferences, notably in Uzbekistan and across leading Indian universities.
