About the Book

An interesting area for research in vocational education is development of vocational aspiration among students. This is of value for educational planners, curriculum designers, career guidance personnel and educational administrators. Vocational aspiration influence vocational maturity and vocational choices in later life, which, in turn affect, job satisfaction and optimization of job performance. This edition of vocational aspiration seems to have attracted the attention of educators more than psychologists. Society is still very much in the dark as to the characteristics of the individual who makes a wise selection of objective as contrasted to the barren or unrealistic chooser. The professional ignorance of what constitutes a “good” choice explains part of the failure to identify the characteristics of the adequate vocational planner. Among all levels of intelligence, individuals show a wide difference in their capacity to set up vocational goals, reasonable in the light of their potentialities, such individual difference need to be explored. About the Authors

Dr. H.M.Shailaja is working in Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka State, India since 1997. Presently she is a Reader in the Department of Education. She obtained her B.Sc., M.Ed. and M.Phil. from Bangalore University, Bangalore and M.A and Ph.D. degrees from Mysore University, Mysore. She has a Certificate Course in Guidance from IGNOU, New Delhi. She has 9 years of UG teaching experience in College of Education, Bangalore. She has guided number of M.Ed. and M.Phil. students for their research work. At present 8 Ph.D research scholars have been awarded for their degree under her guidance and presently guiding few more students also. She has attended a number of national/international seminars/ conferences/workshops and presented papers. She is a member of several academic boards/ bodies. She has also published number of papers in reputed journals nationally and internationally and has also contributed chapters to many books published by different institutions. She is also the author of three books two are on Philosophy and other is on Educational Technology.

Dr. A.V. Bamagond is presently working as Lecturer in BLDEA’s JSS College of Education, and Post-graduate Department of Studies in Education, Bijapur since ten years. He has attended a number of national/international seminars/ conferences/workshops and presented papers. He is also the author of two books related to Educational Technology and General Education.
