About the Book
The present edition examines the role of Gandhi, Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram in dalit empowerment. This edition is redesigned in three parts. The first part deals with Mahatma Gandhi’s earnest endeavour to abolish untouchability. The second part includes Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideologies of dalit empowerment and his works to curb socio-economic discrimination. The third part describes the role of Kanshi Ram and his Bahujan Samaj Party in unifying dalit under single political umbrella to fight for equality and justice. This edition provides the reader with the facts and a critical analysis of the methods adopted by the great leaders in approaching matters related to untouchability starting from Gandhi’s self-purification and social welfare methods to Ambedkar’s approach to social, economic and political empowerment through reservation for untouchable castes and Kanshi Ram’s political empowerment.
