Description

It gives us immense pleasure to present before you June 2014 issue of GJBM published and we owe it all to our dear academicians and scholars, whose relentless faith in us has been a great encouragement throughout. GJBM is an internationally renowned journal and it provides a major platform for publication of high quality research papers in management and its allied disciplines. All research papers submitted for publication in GJBM are thoroughly screened and selected after peer review and maintains the highest ethical and technical standards of the manuscript review. The current volume touches upon some of the latest research issues in management and its related fields. In total, 10 papers covering various functional areas of management have been selected in this issue.
The first paper Strategies for Entry in Foreign Markets by Amanpreet Kaur & Hersheen Kaur attempts to investigate five forces that helps the FMCG industry to enters new emerging markets. The second paper Food Security in India: A Review in Post-Reform Era authored by Dr. Rakesh & Vinod Kumar is an attempt to study the challenges to Indian food security in the context of policy changes after 1991 and suggests some ways to ameliorate the potential food crisis. The third paper Emerging Social Networking Site as a New Marketing Tool authored by Mandavi Sahu shows how social networking sites are becoming the new marketing strategy in companies and can connect with their targeted customers for free, the only cost that is incurred is energy and time. The fourth paper the Impact and Penetration of Smartphone Usage in Student’s Life written by R K Jena reviews the usage, perceived effect and implications of Smartphone on the academic performance of the post-graduate business management students in India. Perceived and relative significance of Smartphone usages to variables such as gender and academic performance have been evaluated in this paper. The fifth paper Job Satisfaction Among Employees in Public and Private Sector Banks in Uttarakhand authored by Richa Arora & Dr. R.S. Pandey tried to find out the impact of training and development and compensation on job satisfaction among the employees of public and private sector banks. It also aims to compare the level of satisfaction between public and private banks’ employees in Uttarakhand. the influences consumer’s buying behaviour in designing the marketing strategies for their products to gain an edge over other competitors in the market. The ninth paper Direct Marketing and Relationships Marketing: Theoretical Approach authored by Anju Goswami outlines the symbiotic strength of direct marketing and relationship marketing that allows contemporary marketers to utilize the best of both disciplines to establish and maintain strong relationships with their customers. 
The tenth paper Foreign Direct Investment in the Indian Scenario authored by Suresh B K analyse the importance of FDI that would not only open new doors for the foreign investors and brands but also lay a foundation for the Indian economy to compete on a Global Scale. In the end, we would say that there are lots of findings in this issue which researchers would find interesting. We are very grateful to all the authors and reviewers for their valuable contribution in the success of this journal. It is our hope that our esteemed readers, patrons, and authors will continue to support us by reading, discussing, recommending, citing our Journals and submitting high-quality manuscripts with innovative ideas.
