About the Book
The 2nd edition of Human Resource Management presents a practical approach to the study of human resource management. Common themes running through the book include the linking of HRM to organisational strategic business objectives; HRM’s potential to contribute to organisational success and employee well-being; the commonality of interests existing between employers and employees; the globalisation of business; and the need for organisations to become internationally competitive. This book offers a guide to the process of reinventing HR so that it focuses on identifying the individual characteristics and then aligns all HR activities around them. The purpose of HR management is, thus, not to describe ‘jobs’ and find people to fit into boxes on organisational charts. Instead, its goal is to enhance productivity and gain competitive advantage by unleashing the power of exemplary performers, discovering their characteristics, and building those characteristics into all aspects of HR. About the Authors
Dr. Vikas Arora, an inspiring motivational speaker and corporate trainer of international repute, is a Management Graduate with distinction from Institute of Management and Research, New Delhi. He started his career in international marketing and possesses worldwide exposure and traveled more than 12 countries like USA, UK, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia etc., and is involved in training since 2001. He has more than 15 years of experience and has devoted 7 years to Corporate sector and 8 years to Training. He has conducted training programs for the corporate sector and various educational institutions all over India. He is a visiting faculty to many top management institutes (more than 60 in number) of the country. His seminars and workshops are well known for their high quality content backed by his unique and impressive style of delivery. Currently, he is Professor cum Dean with one of the leading Business Schools of Gujrat, ATMIYA Institute of Management, Rajkot. Till date, he has trained more than 50,000 Professionals/Faculties/Students. In addition, he has authored three books, ‘Business Communication’, ‘Soft Skills’ and ‘Motivate Yourself’.
Seema Arora is a post graduate in psychology from Panjab University, Chandigarh. She has imparted various practical training programmes on motivation, attitudinal and behavioral issues at many leading institutes/organizations and understands the psychology of human beings and group dynamics. She has given her valuable services in various leading Institutes like Swastik Consultants, ICFAI, to name a few, on Human behavior and Soft Skills Development.
