About the Book
Positive Health Psychology is a distinctive title as all three words used in the title seems to propagate only and only positivism in life. The main objective of this edited volume is to elaborate and understand those positive issues which have the strength not only to prevent diseases but also have the capacity to promote and enhance integrated health with the help of psychological means and methods. Positive attitude towards life make it successful as well as meaningful. This book is a compilation of 30 articles classified in five parts. First part which consist of six articles describes the nature and development of Positive Health Psychology. There are seven articles in part II where different authors have presented various health issues concerned with family, work and society. Part III relates to the mechanism and management of many commonly known psycho-physical diseases. Six articles listed in part IV of the book explains possible techniques and methods for health enhancement. The last section comprising of five articles deals with the study of the contributions of spirituality dimension to positive health. The editors believe that the theoretical and conceptual input of the book in the health areas will prove quite beneficial for students and researchers whereas the ideas and research questions raised in the book will surely provoke the scientists for fulfilling heuristic function.
About the Editors
Amrita Yadava is presently working as Professor, Department of Psychology, M.D. University, Rohtak. She is actively involved in teaching, research and extension work since more than 25 years. Her research area is Psycho-physiology of Health. She has supervised a large number of Post graduate and Ph.D. thesis. More than fifty research articles have been published by her in reputed Journals and Books. She has also edited three books on different applied areas of Psychology. Professor Yadava is a person of strong conviction that hard work with positivism is the key to success in life.
Nov Rattan Sharma is presently working as Professor of Psychology at M.D. University, Rohtak. He is a committed teacher and versatile researcher with an experience of more than 23 years. Professor Sharma who specialized in Health Psychology, has contributed around 55 research articles to various Journals and Books. He has also supervised a large number of M. Phil. and Doctoral Dissertations in addition to the extensive community level programmes on health assessment and awareness. He has edited two books. Professor Sharma is also a life member of different National and International associations of academics and professionals.
