About the Book

The work is an effort to clarify the different religious concept of Sin and its moral implication in socio-religious life. Different philosophers and religious thinkers of both East and West have discussed the problem of sin and virtue throughout the ages. Sin may be defined as all conduct, which by omission or by commission, is offensive to supra-human powers. The nature of sin may be divided into three categories: mataphysical sin, physical sin and moral sin. Sin is so interwoven in human life that men can well foresee their weakness and explore a whole range of feelings: awareness of sin, guilt, anguish, fear, repentance, longing for pardon and hope of purification.

This book comprises of different articles of eminent scholars highlighting religious concept of sin or in other word, the consciousness of wrongdoing.
