Many books have been written by important writers on Muslims politics of India but Muslims politics with special reference to U.P has not been dealt with separately so far. Hence this topic has been chosen to highlight the various aspects such as their aims to power sharing, working pattern and their contribution in Indian politics in pre-independence era. This edition is redesigned into seven chapters i.e. introduction, formation of Muslim League and their political movement, the Civil Disobedience Movement followed by Round Table Conference, impact of Govt. of India Act 1935 and elections held under this act, ups and downs of Muslims politics from 1937 to 1947, and the conclusion. This edition will be an interesting and important addition to the studies on the history of Muslims politics in India in general and U.P. in particular. The analysis of motives, characteristics and pattern of working of Muslim politics is of great interest to a student of Indian History.
About the Author
Dr. Shri Kumar Srivastava got his school education from the reputed Queen’s College and higher education from Benares Hindu University, Varanasi and Ph.D from Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. Being a meritorious student from the very beginning he got various types of scholarship of national level and has always been a rank holder. Due to his inclination towards academic line he has been a good writer, orator, compare and actor and thus possesses a versatile personality. He is a higher grade drama artist and conducts the programs of TV channels and All India Radio. Many of his articles on history have so far been published in the journal named ‘United Journals of Awadh Scholars’. He has attended and submitted many papers in the national and international conferences on history. It is his first book and he is still confident and enthusiastic to do a lot of works in academic line for the benefit of the students and scholars of social sciences.
