Description
About the Book
The present edition is a comparative and historical examination of welfare policy and its impact on social development in developing and developed countries. Since the 17th century, social theorists have tried to link between political authority and types of economic relations of public welfare but their linkage was not satisfactory. The formal distribution of welfare has been analysed in three influential traditions—liberal, socialist and fabian—and each tradition presented as a set of coherent and internally consistent propositions about welfare shares and the mechanism which is used to determine them. In this edition the authors includes everything from legal rights, through social rights to moral rights. They re-examines social and welfare services and finds that there is much more intimate blending of rights and duties and it takes a different form. Welfare policy is reviewed and pointed out several issues of welfare policy that help in social development. This work is an ambitious, scholarly, and provocative, and hopes this book will stimulate researchers and professionals to execute researches in this area.
