Editorial

The present issue of the Journal of Indian Health Psychology has nine articles that deal with health and illness. The first article by Narayanan Annalakshmi and Praballa Ashmitha explores the effect of savoring intervention in enhancing resilience among institutionalized adolescents. Mohammad Faizee and Akbar Husain in the next article attempts to develop and standardize the Worry Scale for cancer patients. The third article by Eisha Rahman assesses the role of cognitive flexibility and emotion regulation in people suffering from lifestyle-related diseases. Akshaya. I. and K.V. Krishna explores how the employability skill affects the level of resilience of transgender in Kerala. Megha Singh and Pallavi Bhatnagar conducted a qualitative study to search for meaning in life during COVID. They found that the major stressors of life during COVID are related to interpersonal relationships and loss of a loved one. They highlighted the need for an intervention program. The next article by Zaira Seraj Khan and Shah Mohd Khan enlisted in the current issue compares emotion regulation and self-consciousness among women living in metro regions and non-metro regions. Priyanka Yadav, Deepti Hooda and NovRattan Sharma in the next article emphasis upon the role of cognitive defusion and decentering in pain coping strategies among osteoarthritis patients. Lata Subramanya and Beena Chintalapuri assess depression among male prison inmates in two Central Prisons of Telangana State (India) and identified factors contributing to depression. Sheereen Khan Bajpai and Bhupinder Singh evaluate the efficacy of Jacobson’s Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique in moderating anxiety of caregivers of cancer patients. Authors have reported that JPMR intervention is effective in improving well-being, physical and psychological health and daily life of the caregivers of cancer patients.
Editors express gratitude to all the contributors for their research contributions that will provide direction for young researchers. Editors are also grateful to the referees and members of editorial board for their valuable inputs. The members of the editorial board are of the view that the journal tries to sensitize the readers to various health related issues that would pave the path towards a healthy community.
