About the Book
The book “Women’s Memory and Youth’s Spirit has been compiled in three parts. First part deals with the life and achievement of Jane Addams and her two important works—the Long Road of Woman’s Memory and the Spirit of the Youths and City Streets—are presented in second and third part of this book. This book has focused on psycho-social aspects of women and children.
About the Author
Jane Addams was the greatest woman sociologist and social workers of her time. She had written ten books, more than two thousand articles and had given hundreds of speeches. Her writing on a variety of subjects, her notion of social feminism and her work for the poor and needy continue to address the complexities of politics and moral duty in American life. She won worldwide recognition as a pioneer social worker in America, as a feminist, and as an internationalist in the first three decade of the twentieth century. She received Noble Peace Award in 1931.
